Paul was born and raised in San Jose. He was reared in a religious home, but did not experience God’s regenerating grace until the age of sixteen. When he did, his life changed dramatically. After graduating from Piedmont Hills High School in 2002, he moved to Missouri where he received God’s call to ministry. There, he began theological training and met his wife, Joy. They married in 2007 and eventually moved to Louisiana for Paul to attend seminary at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Their daughter Dixie was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2009. During seminary, Paul pastored in a cross-cultural context in Acadia Parish, Louisiana.
After seminary, God led Paul to Louisville, Kentucky for advanced studies in the field of church history at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Their son Jackson was born in Louisville in 2013. During their time in Kentucky, Paul pastored a church in a rural community and later served as the Kentucky Baptist Convention’s Campus Missionary at the University of Louisville. God providentially brought Paul back to the Bay Area, with a missionary mindset and ambition to reach this city and region.
